Customer Relationship Management and Salesforce

Use of Atlassian Jira Cloud for Support Services

We use Atlassian Jira Cloud, a cloud-based service provided by Atlassian Pty Ltd, Level 6, 341 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia, to manage and deliver customer support and service desk operations.

When you contact us for support (e.g., through our website, email, or help center), the information you provide β€” including your name, contact details, service requests, and any other relevant content β€” may be stored and processed in Jira Service Management, part of the Atlassian Cloud platform.

We use Jira Cloud to:

  • Log and track support tickets and requests
  • Assign and prioritize tasks internally

  • Maintain a record of support interactions for quality and operational purposes

Web Analytics with Matomo

We use Matomo (self-hosted) for privacy-friendly web analytics. Key privacy features include:

  • IP addresses are anonymized
  • No cookies are used unless explicitly consented
  • No data is shared with third parties

Use of Google reCAPTCHA

To protect our website from spam and abuse, we use Google reCAPTCHA, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (β€œGoogle”). reCAPTCHA is used to check whether data entered on our website (e.g., in a contact form) is entered by a human or by an automated program.

This service involves the transmission of data to Google, including:

Use of Perspective API for Comment Moderation

To maintain a safe and respectful community environment, we use Perspective API, a service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, to automatically moderate comments and user-generated content on our platform.

Perspective API analyzes text content to detect potentially toxic or inappropriate language, helping us maintain community standards and protect users from harmful content.

When you submit a comment or other user-generated content on our platform, the following data may be transmitted to Google’s Perspective API:

  • The text content of your comment or post
  • Your IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
  • Timestamp of the submission

The API returns a toxicity score and attribute scores (e.g., for threats, insults, sexually explicit content) that help us determine whether content should be automatically flagged, reviewed, or removed.

Data Processing and Storage

  • Content analysis is performed in real-time when comments are submitted
  • Google does not store the content submitted for analysis beyond the immediate processing period
  • We may store the toxicity scores and moderation decisions for audit and improvement purposes
  • No personal data is permanently stored by Google as part of this service

Legal Basis

The use of Perspective API is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in maintaining a safe and respectful community environment and protecting our users from harmful or inappropriate content.

Hosting and Data Location

Our website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Germany (Frankfurt region). AWS is GDPR-compliant and provides robust security and data protection practices. All data is stored and processed within the EU.

Use of Prisma with PostgreSQL

We use Prisma, a modern ORM (Object-Relational Mapping) tool, to manage application data stored in a PostgreSQL database. This database is hosted in a data center located in Frankfurt, Germany, within the European Union.

All personal data processed through Prisma remains within the EU and complies with GDPR requirements for data locality and security.

Prisma enables efficient and secure access to user-related data such as dog profile information and account metadata.

The processing of personal data via Prisma and PostgreSQL is based on:

  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject.
  • Article 6(1)(c) GDPR – Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.

Data Security

We apply robust security measures to protect data managed via Prisma and PostgreSQL, including:

  • Daily encrypted backups stored within the EU

No personal data processed using Prisma is transferred outside the European Economic Area.
